Memorial talk
The Philosophy department, Lady Keane College, will organise the 4th Usha Bhattacharya Memorial Talk on the theme: “Descartes Dream Argument” on September 8 at 11 am in the College seminar hall. Dr. Laxminarayan Lenka, Associate Professor, Philosophy department, NEHU, will deliver the talk.
Dancing Star
Punjabi Sabha of Shillong will organize the Shillong Dancing Star – a dance competition and fashion show on September 7 at U Soso Tham Auditorium at 4 pm.
Death Anniv
The All Primary School Teachers’ Association will commemorate the 165th Death Anniversary of Rev Thomas Jones 1 and also simultaneously mark 172 years of the existence of Lower Primary schools in Khasi and Jaintia Hills. The celebrations will take place on September 16 at Krang Presbyterian Church campus via Sohiong village. DCA Minister H.D.R. Lyngdoh will be the chief guest.
