One held for selling python meat

SHILLONG: The Wildlife Protection Squad from Stage IV Power House Umtrew apprehended one Pius Pnar (43) while he was trying to sell python meat on Monday night.

The Range Forest Officer of Nongpoh Wildlife Range said that the accused person had killed an Indian Rock Python in the western part of Nongkhyllem wildlife sanctuary along the Umtrew river.

He was later taken to Nongpoh range and booked under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
