Woman held for husband’s murder

SHILLONG: East Jaintia Hills police have arrested a woman for her alleged involvement in the murder of her husband — Teshali Sympli, whose body was recovered from Ratacherra on NH-44.

One Brisila Sympli lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police Station that her son Teshali Sympli had been missing along his wife Werlinda Rupoi from their residence at Lumshnong V since September 6.

However, on September 8 the body of Teshali was recovered from Ratacherra NH-44 and police immediately arrested the wife of the deceased suspecting her involvement in the case When contacted, East Jaintia Hills police chief MK Dkhar did not rule out involvement of more people in the case. “It is too early to reach any conclusion,” he said.
