NE United sign James Keene

SHILLONG: North East United FC has brought on board yet another international player, to add more experience to its club with the signing of James Keene, a 28-year-old English Striker who started his football career in the year 2005.
Keene is a product of the Portsmouth youth scheme where he débuted in the 2005 at The English Premier League; as a Striker under Henry James “Harry” Redknapp who is one of the senior most managers in English professional football .
Also he is plugged as Elfsborg’s top European scorer of all-time; and has also been an integral member of the club’s Champions League team. James very quickly became one of the country’s most coveted personalities and was even touted as a future star of the Sweden national side.
After being signed  with the NEUFC, Keene expressed, “I am very proud to be part of NorthEast United FC and it’s great to know that the North East is the power house of Indian Football and that the people here are very educated about the game as well.”
The team is currently working tirelessly every day to be prepared for the league that will  commence on October 12. Towards this preparation,  he added, “All of us are training very hard at the moment and the training is fantastic; especially working under an experienced Coach – Ricki Herbert. We are excited for the matches  to start and hope that  this new league will take Indian Football to the global stage.”
With this new inclusion made to their team, the North East United has only upped their ante.
James Keene is a big asset to them with the wealth of experience that he brings having played extensively on the international front. He will only add value to the NEUFC attack to make their mark in the Hero ISL inaugural season.
