Workshop on Autism
Dwar Jingkyrmen in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, under the Chief Minister’s Voluntary Action Fund is organizing a workshop on “Autism Spectrum Disorder” from Sept 15-18. Indrani Majumdar Basu, president of Autism Society of West Bengal and an active member of Association for Autism in India is the resource person. The Workshop is for parents, professionals in the field of Disabilities and the mainstream school teachers.
Debate competition
The Mizo Department of St Anthony’s College will hold an inter-college Debate competition on September 13 at the College auditorium at 1 pm.
Inauguration
A legal care and support centre will be inaugurated in the campus of St. Edmund’s College on September 13. The Centre will be inaugurated by Justice T. Nandakumar Singh, Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority, at 11 am.
Anniversary
The opening ceremony of the 5th anniversary celebration of Seng Samla Shnong Laitkor Pyllun was held on Wednesday. The Seng Samla felicitated many students from Laitkor Pyllun with academic excellence awards on the occasion.
Tourist stand
The Meghalaya Tourist Transporters’ Association has informed that the new tourist taxi stand was inaugurated at the Municipal Parking Lot, opposite SBI Main Branch. The MTTA expressed its gratitude to the East Khasi Hills SP and other police officials who were present on the occasion.
Hindi Diwas
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong, in association with Metallica – Sargam Sports & Cultural Club, Shillong, supported by Central Institute of Hindi, Shillong will observe Hindi Diwas on September 20 by holding series of competitions like Hindi Essay writing and Drawing for school children at R.B. Anupchand Hindi Sec. School from 10.30 am onwards.
Condolence
NEIGRIHMS has condoled the sudden demise of Markin Kharmudai, Storekeeper of NEIGRIHMS, who breathed his last on September 11. The Hospital authorities have sent their condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
