SAN-KER prog

The Day Care Centre at SAN-KER is organizing a ‘Spreading Sunshine Program’ on Sept 15 at Mission Compound Community Hall at 11am. The event is an initiative taken by Trishna Panchal, a student of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and Banyan, Chennai, as a part of her Block Fieldwork placement, which is organized in collaboration with SAN-KER, Marwoh.

Awareness prog

An awareness programme on Japanese Encephalitis was recently organized by Cherangre Vigilance Committee at Cherangre Government LP School. During the programme, Medical & Health Officer, Dr. Salnang G Momin, sensitized the people about the nature of the disease as well measures to prevent its infection.

Appeal to SBI

The All Gasuapara VEC Association has appealed for the re-opening of the SBI Gasuapara Branch. The VEC members while submitting a signatory has informed that the people of the region were facing undue hardships due to non-functioning of the bank.

Blood donation

The NSS Unit, NEHU, conducted a blood donation camp on Sept 13 from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm at NEHU Health Centre. 55 NEHU students voluntarily donated blood in the camp. The programme was conducted in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS, MACS, Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute and the State Blood Transfusion Council.

CPC meet

The Central Puja Committee, Shillong will hold an Executive Committee meeting on Sept 14 at Jagannath Mandir, Thana Road, at 10.30 am. The meeting will form the CPC’s women’s wing and the advisory body.

Talent contest

Taal Academy will organise a mega talent contest ‘Junior Icon 2014’ at Don Bosco Hall on Sept 14 at 3 pm. The contest is for children aged between 5 and 15 years to showcase their talent in singing, dancing, mimicry, standup comedy, acting, juggling or magic.

Passing out

The passing out parade of the 41st Batch Field Assistant Trainees will be held at Soil and Water Conservation Department Training Institute, Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi, on Sept 16. Commissioner & Secretary in charge Soil and Water Conservation, B. Dhar, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
