Arrest

Police arrested one Kaspir Nongphud in connection with a murder case under Nongstoin PS.

Burglary

Police arrested one Md. Nur Islam (36) from Assam, in connection with a burglary case under Laitumkhrah PS.

Fraud

Dibakar Sen lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on September 15 at around 10 pm, he received a phone call from unidentified person claiming to be SBI official and asked about his ATM details to which the complainant provided the details. Later, he received an alert message that Rs. 76,980 was withdrawn from his account.

NGT violation

On September 15, Police party detected one coal laden truck (ML-04-6731) at Mawiong GS Road, Shillong violating NGT order.

Accident

On September 15 at around 11.45 pm, one Maruti car (ML-10A-7037) collided head on with truck (AS-02E-4807) at Karbalu GS Road (RB). As a result, three occupants of Maruti car sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Shillong.

On September 11 at around 8 am, one Tura- Phulbari bus (ML-08A-7978) met with an accident at Damalgre (WGH). As a result one Md. Hasnain Ansari (19 yrs) died on the spot. Necessary formalities were observed and dead body was handed over to the relatives. A criminal case have been registered in this connection.

Chain snatching

On September 13 at around 6.30 pm, unidentified miscreants in a Maruti local taxi (number not known) attempted to snatch a gold necklace from one Papiya Ramanujam at Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. However, when she raised an alarm, the miscreants fled away.

Theft

On the night of September 13, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05H-1724) belonging to Arjun Singh from Ruprekha School, Lower Jail Road, Shillong. Later, the motorcycle was recovered from near the graveyard at Lawmali, Shillong.

On the night of September 13, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08D-3291) belonging to Rupsen N Sangma from Matchakolgre, Tura (WGH).

On the night of September 10, unknown miscreants stole cables and other equipments valued around Rs. 38,000 from Airtel Tower Site at Laitkor Nongdaneng (EKH).

One stabbed

On September 13 at around 11.45 pm, Bishan Swer stabbed Phnadur Swer with a sharp weapon at Tynring village (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS.
