TURA: The A’chik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF), a breakaway faction of the ASAK militant outfit with Jack Marak as one of its leaders has refuted the claims of police that it was involved in the killing of four GNLA cadres recently at Bolmoram Jungle near Williamnagar in East Garo Hills “We consider all underground armies and consider their soldiers as our brothers. We will never engage in unnecessary fire fight with any underground group. We are instead making efforts to work together in unison for the cause of the A’chik people,” AMEF General Secretary, N Matgrik said. Elaborating further the militant leader said that the leaders of different militant organizations in Garo Hills were maintaining contacts by phone with each other and thinking of ways to bring about the holding of round table talks. However, due to various problems the various groups had been prevented from coming together under one banner.

“The claim of the police that our group was engaged in fire fight with GNLA cadres including an ULFA cadre is only their strategy to turn us against each other.

They do not have any proof to substantiate their claims,” the militant leader claimed and added that the whole purpose of forming the AMEF would be revealed shortly.
