SHILLONG: KHNAM has refuted the news report which said that some of its MDCs are trying to forge an alliance with Congress to topple Ardent Basaiawmoit-led ARPA coalition in the KHADC.

The party general secretary Batkupar Wahlang on Wednesday said that KHNAM had no intention to work with Congress in the KHADC.

“All the four MDCs of the party are intact,” Wahlang said in a statement.

Earlier, it was reported some MDCs belonging to KHNAM, a partner in the Basaiawmoit-led Executive Committee, met Congress leaders on Monday night to have an alternate Executive Committee, fearing that UDP might forge an alliance with Congress in the KHADC.

He said that the news surprised the party.
