JOWAI: Following the alleged misappropriation of funds in the JHADC, the Executive Committee on Wednesday finally cracked the whip, suspending the Finance and Accounts Officer and the Cashier of the Council.
The move was confirmed by JHADC chief, Thombor Shiwat. Sources said that the decision to suspend the Finance and Accounts Officer, B Sana and the Cashier, Ms. J. Chullet came after the EC received a report of the Special Finance Committee which was constituted to conduct an enquiry in to the alleged misappropriation of funds in the JHADC.
The EM in charge Financial Affairs, Joinriwel Pyrtuh, who is also the chairman of the Special Committee, informed that the enquiry report was submitted to the Executive Committee on Thursday last.
Sources also informed that the Special Committee has determined that an amount of Rs. 63 lakh was missing from the JHADC fund.
