Arrest cases

Police arrested one John Kharhunai in connection with a theft case under Shillong Sadar PS.

Police arrested one Rahul Kharkongor (19) in connection with a theft case under Rynjah PS and seized one car tape, one LCD TV set and one speaker from his possession.

Accident

On September 18 at around 6 am, an accident took place between one Maruti local taxi (ML-05L-8582) driven by Vicky Chettri and one truck (ML-05E-6807) driven by Kanbokstar Mynsong (76) at Military Hospital Junction. As a result, driver and one occupant of Maruti local taxi sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital. Police detained the truck and its driver.

Auto-rickshaw abandoned

On September 18 at around 2 pm, one auto-rickshaw (AS-11-AC-9725) was found abandoned at Umphyrnai Shillong-Jowai Road in East Khasi Hills.

Brought dead

On September 18 at around 12.30 pm, one Sujung Taikam (24) of Elite PG Hostel, Upper Lachumiere, Shillong was taken to Woodland Hospital, for treatment where the Medical Officer on duty declared him brought dead.

Missing case

A woman identified as Indira Devi lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on September 17 around 8.30 am, her daughter Sangeeta Rai (14 years) went to Anupchand Hindi Secondary School, Police Bazar, Shillong and has not returned home.

Abuse

A woman, Kamla Verma lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on September 17 at around 2 pm, one Kailash Verma went to Hotel Pegasus Crown, Police Bazar, abused and threatened her with dire consequences.

Minor raped

A person lodged a complaint at Pillangkata out post that on September 17, one Ananto Borah (28) raped the complainant’s eight-year-old daughter in a stone quarry at Maikuli, Pillangkata (RB). Police arrested the accused.

Bike theft

On September 17 morning, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08D-1701) belonging to one Jesfield Ch Marak from Hawakhana, Tura (WGH).

River poisoning

Primus Kamar and Hunmaialang Lapasam lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on September 16 at around 1 pm, one Heibormi Tyngkan was caught red handed while he was using poisonous substances to catch fish at Pamlakhriang River at Mookaiaw village (WJH). Later, Police arrested him.

Cable theft

On September 12 at around 1.30 am, unknown miscreants stole cables valued around Rs. 1,60,000 from an Airtel Mobile Tower at Mawthingsahep (WKH).

Coal theft

Kenendro N Marak and others lodged a complaint at Rongjeng police station that on September 2, one Raksang @ Garo, Sengkal R Marak and their accomplices, stole coal from a coal depot at Rongmil Wakok (NGH) and sold the same at Damas Cement Factory (NGH).
