SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills LP & UP, SSA Teachers’ Association has opposed the MBOSE notification wherein those primary-level teachers who are teaching in Government, Deficit, Adhoc or SSA schools and have not fulfilled the minimum qualification of securing 45 per cent in the Pre-University/ HSSLC examination or equivalent examination and the candidates who had passed SSLC examination but could not pursue higher studies are require to appear the HSSLC examination 2015, to met the minimum qualification as specified by the NCTE.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the association pointed out that most of the teachers have been being working in this field for ten to thirteen years and even more, and added, “When we got appointed as a teacher there was no question about the 45 per cent marks in HSSLC, but now all of a sudden the question of 45 per cent marks has arisen, which is unacceptable to the teachers.”
“This notification of MBOSE is a grave injustice to the teachers,” it said.
The association also suggested that the government should provide special training to the teachers, to improve the overall quality of education in the State.
