GNLA camps busted, ultras escape

TURA: South Garo Hills police and SAWT commandos attacked two base camps of the banned GNLA in Chokpot region of the district early Saturday morning narrowly missing a wanted area commander of the outfit.

SWAT commandos raided two hideouts of the banned GNLA close to Nokatgre village, 10 kms from Deku in Chokpot region on Saturday morning but the well armed militants led by top GNLA commander Hedeo managed to escape before the security forces arrived at their hideout.

There were as many as forty militants in the two camps who managed to get away.
