NONGSTOIN: The Nongstoin College Education Society in collaboration with the NYK Nongstoin on Wednesday organized a one-day awareness programme on Drugs, Alcoholism and prevention of Tobacco at Nongstoin College Auditorium hall.
The Awareness saw active participation from students of various institution of Nongstoin.
Extra Assistant Commissioner, M.A. Challam, during the inaugural function spoke about the Khasi folklores and warned that drugs, alcohol and tobacco will destroy the individual, the family and the society.
Besides Challam, the programme was also attended by A.K. Gupta, Youth Coordinator, NYK Nongstoin, B.K. Laitflang, Principal, Nongstoin College, M. Marwein, Inspector Excise, S.W. Malai, SDPO Mairang, P. Marwein, HoD History dept. and R. Nongsiej, Lady Health Visitor attended as resource persons.
