Bodies found
On October 4 at around 11 am, the body of a woman identified as Veronica Jyrwa (40s) was found lying at Lumiablot, Nongthymmai.
On October 4 at around 5.30 am, police recovered a decomposed male body (50) from the shrubs at Polo near immersion ghat.
Attempted rape
On October 3, one Over Marbaniang attempted to rape a woman at Umjarain village in South West Khasi Hills in her residence. Police arrested the accused.
Assault
On October 3 at around 7 am, one Marsing Kurbah (50) assaulted his brother-in-law Sterias Marbaniang (47) at Muthlong under Sohiong Out Post (EKH). The victim sustained minor injuries.
