Local body fetes meritorious students

NONGSTOIN: The Mawkawah Women Social Welfare Organization (MWSWO) felicitated 14 meritorious students who came out with flying colours in their respective SSLC, HSSLC, Civil Engineering and Information Technology degree courses at a programme held at Mawkawah Community Hall recently.

The programme was attended by L.G Nongsiej, MDC, Nongstoin, W. Lyngdoh, Headman of Mawkawah village, Blassing Marngar, village elder, Bakmenlang K. Malai, chairperson of the organization, schools student, parents and villagers of Mawkawah.

Nongsiej, while lauding the efforts of MWSWO in encouraging the students, also praised the organization for the programme and congratulated the students on their achievements.

“We are proud to have such excellent students and with such felicitation we hope students of Mawkawah and Nongstoin will aim higher and come out with flying colours in future,” Nongsiej said.

He further urged the students to excel in their professional fields and contribute to the society with their gained expertise.
