Police start inquiry into fake FB account of Tripura CM

Agartala: Tripura police have started an inquiry into the opening a fake Facebook account in the name of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, the state’s top police officer said on Monday.
“Police have registered a case suo motu into the opening of a fake FB account in the name of Chief Minister. The cyber crime branch of the police has started inquiry into the incident,” Director General of Police K Nagraj told reporters.
In the fake Facebook account, there was a post by the Chief Minister to save animals in the Eid festival. However, Sarkar told reporters that he has no e-mail ID or Facebook account and he also did not assign anybody to create an ID or Facebook account. (PTI)
