SHILLONG: KHNAM Jaiaw MDC Adelbert Nongrum is all set to become CEM of KHADC as the Congress-led KHUDA has decided not to field candidate to take on Nongrum.

Nongrum, who is the new Parliamentary Party leader of the ruling coalition in the KHADC-ARPA, will be formally elected as the new CEM during the special session of the Council to be held on Wednesday.

Nongrum, meanwhile, filed his nomination papers on Tuesday. The KHNAM Jaiaw MDC was accompanied by UDP MDCs — Metbah Lyngdoh, Rona Khymdeit and Hadrian Lyngdoh, HSPDP MDC KP Pangniang, KHNAM MDC Latiplang Kharkongor and Nongshken independent MDC Grace Mary Kharpuri when he went file his nomination papers.
