Rangdajied ride on Joel’s goal

SHILLONG: Joel Sunday provided Rangdajied United a crucial win for the Blues in their match against Meghalaya Police in their Imperial Blue Shillong Premiere League match on Wednesday.
Rangdajied make an early lead in the 19th minute after K. Thopi did well to find his target but a penalty was awarded against them in the 35th minute. Veteran Marshall Kurkalang converted the penalty to equalise the scores and bring Meghalaya Police back in the game.
But Joel Sunday scored a decisive goal for the Blues in the 74th minute to steer Rangdajied to a 2-1 victory.
In a Third Division match, Nongrah pounded Risa Colony 3-0. The scorers for Nongrah were R. Jyrwa (7”), G. Warjri (57”), and J. Kyndiah (63”).
In another Third Division match, Madanryting scraped through with a 2-1 win playing Nongsohphoh. Nongsohphoh led early on with a 10th minute strike through T. Gyrtham but fell behind by a goal later. M. Tung Zou made it 1-1 in the 18th minute before his team mate Lalthlamoung scored the lead 27 minutes into the match before Madanryting finished 2-1.
