Assault cases

On October 12 at around 6.30 am, unknown occupants of three vehicles assaulted Ardent Shangpliang and a girl Doleen Kharkongor at Umtyngar Bridge (EKH).

On October 12 at around 9.30 pm, one Shaibor Lyngdoh assaulted Threetin Rynjah (80 ) at Mawphlang (EKH). Victims sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

NGT ban violation

On October 11 at around 3 am, while conducting vehicle checking at Dagal (EGH), Police detected three trucks (AS-18C-4477, AS-16-4649 & AS-18C-5881) driven by Mohibul Islam, Md. Abjal Haque and Manowar Hussain respectively of which two trucks were transporting logs without valid permit and the other was transporting coal in violation of NGT order. All the trucks were seized and the drivers arrested.

Vehicle theft cases

On October 11 at around 8 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Pick-up (AS-15-2254) belonging to Md. Abu Bakkar Khan from RR Colony, Rynjah, Shillong.

Abduction

On October 11 at around 11.15 pm, one Mohan Tegu was abducted in a Maruti Zen Estilo car (ML-05F-1977) driven by one Angel Lyngdoh Nongpiur from Lumparing, Shillong near Buddhist Temple. Matter is under inquiry.

Demand note

One Lorphin Kurkalang lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on October 10, an SMS message was received in his daughter’s mobile phone demanding Rs. 20 lakh from him and also threatened him with dire consequences.

Body found

On October 9 at around 8 pm, one Arky Dkhar (26) and Gramar Surong went for fishing at Umngot River, Syntung (EKH) but did not return home. On October 11 the body of Arky Dkhar was found in the river while Gramar Surong was missing. Matter is under inquiry.

Mysterious death of maid

One Haimon Suchiang lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on October 4 evening, her daughter (16) who was working as domestic help in the residence of Jancy Passah at Khimusniang Jowai (WJH), reportedly died after falling from the terrace of her employer’s building. However, the complainant and her relatives suspected foul play into her death.

Victims released

One Dipul Das lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on October 1 at around 10.30 pm, six unidentified miscreants abducted his son Nayan Das (15) from his grocery shop at Zekabari (WGH). On October 5 around 7 pm, the abducted victim was released unharmed.

One Kabir Ch Momin lodged a complaint at Garobadha outpost that on September 11, 2014 at around 8.30 pm, unidentified armed miscreants abducted his brother-in-law Sujit Mondal from his residence at Balal Adugre (WGH). The abducted victim was released unharmed on September 17, 2014.

FIR on Jaintia Hills violence

K. Syiemlieh, Driver Constable of Khliehriat PS lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS (EJH) that on September 23, while he was driving a Police vehicle (ML-02-4114) from Khliehriat towards Wapung on duty, and on reaching Kyndon Soo NH-44 (EJH), an unruly mob pelted stones and damaged the windshield of the vehicle.

Stone quarry cause of flood: FIR

Police lodged a Suo-Moto complaint at Tura PS that during the incessant rain since September 22, 2014 the PWD roads between Garobadha and Hallidayganj (WGH) were damaged due to illegal stone quarry operating in the area which has also permanently affected the agricultural land and crops due to dumping of stones and sands.
