‘EGH minors molested not raped’

SHILLONG: Chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, M. Kharkongor, on Wednesday clarified that the report from the East Garo Hills Superintendent of Police has stated that the accused policeman (UB Inspector A.J. Sangma) had molested the minors but raped had not been committed.

The SCPCR chief further said that the medical examination of the victims also did not confirm rape.

“All possible measures will be taken to book the culprit as per law.

“The matter is under investigation and the constable has been arrested,” she added.
