Agartala:Tripura Road Transport Corporation(TRTC) continued its programme ‘Watching Tripura from the sky’ for Durga Puja strollers this year too like previous year.
State Transport minister Manik Dey said here that an 8-seater double engine Pawan Hans chopper has launched the trip from Agartala Airport at a nominal cost for the puja revellers to boost tourism.
The 25-minute helicopter trip would help watch Tripura from the sky that covers green-lash indwelling hill ranges and a distinct view of Bangladesh plains and an aerial view of all small to big Durga Pujas of the state.
The ride costs Rs 1000 for adults and Rs 800 for minors. Each ride carries at least six people.  ‘Watching Tripura from the sky’ for Durga Puja strollers this year too like previous year.

‘During Durga puja no other state in the country does provide this kind of service at supported cost except Tripura because we want people from rest of the world to join us. Besides, Tripura is the only state where the government sponsors the Durga Puja to respect the erstwhile tradition of royal regime in Durgabari with full religious tradition,’ Mr Dey stated.
He said despite a different political view of the communists in organising Durga Puja at state sponsorship, the Left Front government has been doing it since 1949.
Tripura is organising about 2500 Durga Puja including 100 individual pujas in the state this time. Police has made elaborate arrangements for peaceful celebration of the festival by employing additional security men and security apparatus across the state.
Police has also made arrangement for special security for vehicles moving on NH 44 for 24 hrs and puja pandals along with a dedicated women helpline 1091 with a commitment of immediate action upon receiving the complaints, said Anurag Dhankar. (UNI)
