SHILLONG: A meeting of the Gorkha Thakurbari (Radha Krishna) Mandir Committee, Upper Mawprem, Shillong, was held on October 19 which decided to reconstruct the three-storied Radha Krishna Mandir (Gorkha Thakurbari) by demolishing the old temple.

The existing temple was constructed in the year 1905 and it is one of the oldest temples in Shillong.

The Gorkha Thakurbari Committee has decided to construct the proposed temple through public contributions and has appealed to the devotees to contribute generously for construction of the temple. A committee has been constituted to oversee reconstruction of the temple.
