Assault, rape attempt

A person lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on October 10 around 4 pm, three persons Sengku T Sangma, Rupit T Sangma and Lipton Ch Marak assaulted and also attempted to rape his wife at Khalpara village (WGH).

Assault

On October 20 around 11 am, one Amon Pariat assaulted Pynpaw Jana Khyriem (30) at Puriang (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

On October 18 around 9 pm, unknown miscreants assaulted three persons, Banaiborlang Rymbai, Anthony Nongbri and Vijay Suting at a parking lot near SBI Main Branch, Shillong.

One held for attempted murder

Police arrested one Pynshai Lyngdoh Marshillong (22) in connection with an attempted murder under Nongstoin PS.

Police arrested one Phidrik L Mawnai (38) in connection with an attempted murder under Mairang PS.

Accident case

On October 18 around 2.30 pm, one Maruti car (ML-05H-9644) driven by Rica Pala fell into a gorge at Mawkliar, Sohryngkham (EKH). As a result, driver and four occupants including two women sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong where the driver died.

On October 18 around 5.15 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05A-0850) ridden by Bhakupar Jyrwa knocked down one pedestrian Jaibun Nisha Qureshi (80) at Luckier Road, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.

On October 19 around 9 pm, one Tata Nano car (ML-05K-2745) driven by Ioanis Mawrie (32) dashed against a wall at Litshyrwat, Shillong. As a result, driver sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

On October 16 around 4.30 pm, one scooter (ML-07-3387) ridden by Anet K Marak dashed against a footpath at Kosichora Bazar (NGH). As a result, rider sustained injuries and was removed to CHC Resubelpara.

ATM vandalism

Ashim Dey lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on October 18, the EPP key and monitor key of SBI ATM at Qualapatty. Shillong was found glued by unknown miscreants.

Manowar Lyngdoh lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on October 18 around 3 pm, the pin pad of SBI ATM at Jeep Stand, Qualapatty, Shillong was found glued by unknown miscreants.

Drowning case

On October 17 around 3 pm, while fishing at Jinjiram river at Rongsaigre (WGH), Wilme Ch Sangma (19) accidentally fell into the river and was drowned. Necessary formalities have been observed and cadaver was handed over to the relative.

ATM fraud case

Tralis Thabah lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on October 17 around 11.45 am, she went to an ATM booth at Modrina Nongkynrih Building, Mawlai, Shillong, and keyed her ATM code but she could not proceed further as the screen of the ATM monitor went black and she left the ATM Booth. Later, she received an SMS alert that Rs. 20,000 had been withdrawn from her account.

Hanging case

Lon Shylla lodged an FIR at Mawlasnai OP that on October 16 around 6 am, his son Shanborlang Marshillong (17) was found hanging in a cow shed at Tyrso Nongkhyllep village (RB). Cadaver was sent to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for PM examination.

Body recovered

On October 14, one unidentified male dead body apparently Boro Kachari, was recovered from Umlawang river (EJH) and the cadaver sent to Civil Hospital Jowai for PM examination.
