AMEF ultra, two others held after foiled kidnapping bid

SHILLONG: Police arrested three persons including a hardcore AMEF cadre who were hunting for potential victims who could be kidnapped for ransom in Williamnagar town.
The criminals were arrested on Tuesday after police received inputs about three men surveying the town for potential targets, informed East Garo Hills SP, DNR Marak. Following the inputs, police alerted the victims and subsequently a trap was laid to arrest the three.
Two of the arrested persons were planning to join AMEF post the crime while the other was a hardcore militant.
The arrested persons have been identified as Millan M Sangma (27), Sengsimbirth R Marak (20) and George Marak (27), all hailing from Balsrigittim, Williamnagar.
