GNLA claims outfit intact despite surrender spree

SHILLONG: Despite the surrender of many GNLA cadres, the militant outfit on Wednesday asserted that the outfit still has a good number of committed cadres with it.

In a statement issued to the media, joint publicity secretary of GNLA, Garo Mandei Ch Marak said that the outfit still has cadres who are faithful to the cause of Garoland.

According to the GNLA leader, there have been rumours in social media that GNLA cadres were surrendering due to mistreatment at the hands of senior cadres and leaders of the outfit.

“These are totally baseless allegations made by some persons to defame our organization and our leaders,” Marak said. The GNLA leader said that some people went to the extent of saying that the cadres, who hail from the locality of commander in chief Sohan D. Shira got more money and better arms.

“We respect all our cadres no matter what rank they hold and which area they may belong to. GNLA is not an income earning organization. We use every penny which our well-wishers donate us to buy better arms and technological devices and they are not used for personal expenses,” the GNLA leader said.

The militant outfit said that those who surrendered before the police, lacked in self-confidence, will power and the courage to endure hardships.
