SHILLONG: In view of the observation of Capt. Williamson A Sangma’s 25th death anniversary, the organizers of the ceremony have asked South Garo Hills district administration to postpone the Lok Adalat scheduled for Saturday to enable the people to participate in the event.

The Capt. Williamson Memorial Welfare Committee Siju which is organizing the event at Memorial Park in Siju Cave on Saturday is unhappy with the district administration which scheduled the Lok Adalat for the same day.

“If the Adalat is held on Saturday, it will amount to showing disrespect to Capt Sangma hence, we urge the district administration to reconsider its decision,” a Committee member said.

Late Capt. Sangma is known as the architect of Meghalaya.
