First of its kind youth convention in city

SHILLONG: In a first, the Gospel Musical Factor Association (GMFA) will host a two-day Youth Convention here which will see participation of speakers from USA, Russia, Thailand, besides those from other parts of the country and the state. Youth With A Mission (YWAM) members from Thailand, Him Rockers and the Gospellers will perform during the event which will be held at U Soso Tham Auditorium from November 6-7.

Speaking about the event on Thursday, GMFA treasurer, Tirot Suchiang said that the objective of the convention is to spread the message of strength, peace and integrity among the youths of Shillong.

“GMFA aims to inspire young people through the medium of art and music thereby encouraging harmony, solidarity and oneness,” Suchiang said adding that besides speakers from abroad, notable people from the state will also be actively involved in this convention.

“We also believe that through art and music, people can cut through boundaries of state and religion, overcoming problems of poverty and illiteracy,” the GMFA treasurer said.
