Contraband seized
On November 3 around 9.20 am, Police recovered and seized one abandoned plastic bag containing ganja from Polo Bazar, Shillong. Matter is under inquiry.
Assault
On November 2 around 10.30 pm, one Pynhun Lyngdoh assaulted Anjalee Lyngdoh (14) at Kench’s Trace, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Matter is under inquiry.
Theft cases
G.K. Didimus Nongsiang lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on October 26 night, one Lambok K. Dewsaw (24) broke into the house of Aloisius Mawlieh at Pyndengrei village (WKH) and stole one Router Set Machine, fiber fishing rod and cash. On November 1, VDP members apprehended him along with one Maruti car (ML-05A-4162) and recovered the stolen properties.
Shekhar Mishra lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on the night of November 1, unknown miscreants broke into his house at Fancy Valley, Tura (WGH) and stole cash Rs.30,000, gold ornaments, one cell phone and clothes total valued around Rs.3,68,200.
On October 31 night, unknown miscreant broke into the house of Dr. Ganesh Newar at Anandamath, Tura (WGH) and stole gold ornaments, silver ornaments, clothing and cash Rs.7000. Total value of property stolen is Rs. 3,61,500.
House ransacked
On November 1 around 1.30 am, unknown miscreants ransacked and vandalized the house of Manjeng Sangma at Mansanggre under Bajengdoba PS (NGH). The property damaged is estimated around Rs. 2 lakh.
NGT ban violation
On October 31 between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm, Police detected four trucks (AS-01-BC-8445, AS-01-EC-2475, ML-04A-9563 & ML-10A-0880) driven by Adhir Nath (37), Bijoy Nath (22), Paitlang Lapasam (21 yrs) and Poida-O-Suchiang (45) respectively transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Ummulong (WJH). Police seized all the four trucks and arrested the drivers.
Threat
G.K Bani, Headman of Nonglwai village (WKH) lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on October 31, one Blington Thyrniang threatened the VDP members and residents of the village.
Ransom demand
Bipilson K Sangma lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that on October 30 around 10.30 pm, unidentified miscreants abducted one Md. Ekram Ali (30), driver of truck (AS-18-2961) from the residence of Chee M Sangma at Rongreng Baija (EGH). Later, the abductors demanded over phone a ransom of Rs.15 lakh from the owner of the truck Md. Jalil Muhammad.
Rape attempt
Nasin M Marak lodged a complaint at Dadenggre PS that on October 29 around 11.30 pm, one Jeril R Marak entered his house at Dadenggre (WGH) and attempted to rape his teenage daughter.
Misappropriation case
K.R. Mawthoh of Manipal Business Pvt. Ltd., Shillong, lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on October 16, an amount of Rs.1,75,770 was handed over to the agent of the company Prishan Basaiawmoit, for disbursement to MGNREGA beneficiaries of Umladang and Kdiap villages (WJH). However, the amount has been misappropriated by Prishan Basaiawmoit.
