Debate, painting competition held at Nongstoin College

NONGSTOIN: The Geography Department of Nongstoin College, in collaboration with the NSS and Eco Club units of the College, organized a State-level Debate and Painting competition on the College premises on Wednesday.

14 participants from seven Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges took part in the competitions which was held under the theme “Coal mining in Meghalaya a boon to the State and Society’.

Aidotis Khyllait of Tirot Sing Syiem College, Mairang, was awarded the prize of best debater, while Fengkha D. Daimari of Union Christian College, Umiam, and Iaiangnud Shisha Thabah of Nongstoin College won the second and third prize, respectively.

In the Painting Competition, Mixz Samakha of Nongstoin College bagged the 1st prize, while Baniengskhem Tongbah of Sngapsing Syiem College and Barsil Buam of Nongstoin College were awarded the second and third prize respectively.
