Training prog
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nongshillong, West Khasi Hills District, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Nongstoin, has started a two-month skill upgradation training programme in Agriculture, Horticulture & allied subjects at Krishi Vigyan Kendra office from Nov 3. Training will be provided to 30 women in mushroom cultivation, poultry farming, fish rearing & seed production in small ponds, backyard vegetable cultivation, vermiculture and its uses, entrepreneurship development, bee keeping, food processing and candle making.
Carnival
The Alumni Association of St. Mary’s College, Shillong, is organising a Carnival of food, music and games on November 5 from 9:30am to 4pm, as part of its fund raising activity, on the College premises. Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen M. Lyngdoh will inaugurate the Carnival.
Birth anniv
Shillong Mukul Sangha, a branch of Assam Sahitya Sabha, Shillong, will celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Rasaraj Lakshminath Bezbaruah in a day-long programme on November 9 on the Assam Club’ Laban premises.
Album release
A howee, a Garo folk fusion band will release its first album ‘Searching For Perfection’ during the 100 drums Wangala festival at Asanang, West Garo Hills.

The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills has declared dry day on November 6 on account of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
Handloom expo
The Directorate of Handloom, Handicraft and Sericulture, Government of Tripura, will organize a national-level special handloom expo at the Nongthymmai Sports Ground, Shillong, from November 5-19.
School week
The Kyllang Jasap Upper Primary School celebrated its 1st school week in Sohiong with various activities like carrom board, quiz competition, tug of war and other sports. Former MLA of Sohiong, R.A. Lyngdoh, was the chief guest during the closing ceremony.
Seminar
