SHILLONG: The MBoSE is “trying its best” to introduce the course on Financial Management Market at the higher secondary level in the Commerce stream at the earliest.
The MBoSE has tied up with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for introducing the course at 10+2 level and the latter has already started the groundwork for it.
“The NSE conducted two workshops in Shillong and Tura in June and August respectively and we are trying our best to start the course at the earliest,” MBoSE Executive chairman EP Kharbhih said on Wednesday adding that the introduction of the course will enhance the employability of the students, who would be equipped with both from the Board and the NSE, in the financial market.
Kharbhih also informed that the Academic and Examination Committee during a meeting on Tuesday recommended to the Board the need for vocationalisation of education at both secondary and higher secondary levels. “In this new scheme, students can even take up vocational subjects along with subjects of their choice in institutions offering such facilities,” he said.
