Inter-college tourney: Umshyrpi beat Bajoria

SHILLONG: The Inter College Cricket Tournament 2014 organised by the Sports Department of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) kick started on Friday at the SCA Cricket Ground Polo.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr S.N. Lamare, Teacher-in-charge Sports NEHU in presence of Gideon Kharkongor, General Secretary, SCA,  Dister Marbaniang Vice President SCA, N. Das Assistant Director, Sports NEHU, Peter J Lamare.
The inaugural match was played between K L Bajoria College and Umshyrpi College. The toss was won by K L Bajoria  who elected to bat.  They were bundled out for 72 runs in 18.3 overs. Inzan Lotha scored 12 runs off 25 balls while Umshyrpi  bowlers S Barua with bowling analysis of 3 overs 18 runs 3 wickets. In reply, Umshyrpi  scored 73 runs of 16.3 overs losing 3 wickets. R Rai scored 21 runs off 47 balls while J Paul took 3 for 11 runs.
In the second match of the day, Sohra Government College defeated Raid Laban College by 32 runs.   Vishal Warjri scored 60 runs off 58 balls while Deini Pakma took 2 wickets for 33 runs.
