Foundation day

The Nehru Yuva Kendra Nongstoin will distribute sports materials to selected Youth Clubs/Sports Clubs /Woman’s Organisations/SHGs of West Khasi Hills District on November 14 at Nongstoin Block C& RD Hall in the presence of Local MDC LG Nongsiej and others during its foundation day celebrations.

Drama

To bring to light the atrocities and trauma that women face in their day to day lives, the Department of Mass Media, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong on Saturday presented a post dramatic theatre entitled Kalika- Through the Looking Glass at the St. Anthony’s College playground. The event was sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare. Director of Social Welfare, H M Shangpliang was the chief guest on the occasion. Shangpliang expressed hope that the event could send a loud and clear message to the society to stop atrocities against women.

Office bearers

The Meghalaya Eco-Friendly Students’ Union has set foot in Ri Bhoi district by constituting a unit comprising of around 40 members and 12 office bearers there. The Union is looking to make its presence felt in all the districts of the State by June 2015.
