Srinagar: A soldier and a 17-year-old girl were killed Saturday in firing by Pakistani soldiers on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, a defence ministry spokesman said.

Pakistan violated the bilateral ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing on the LoC in Kamalkote area of Uri sector at 5.15 p.m., he said.

“Our troops responded appropriately to the Pakistan firing, and firing exchanges continued for two hours,” he added. (IANS)
