Deputy Speaker and South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai lays the foundation stone of a new road at Lower Lumparing in the city on Saturday. The 0.41- km proposed PWD road which will be constructed from Jackson Trace road via Muslim and Seng Khasi graveyards up to Upper Lumparing existing road at an estimated cost of Rs 3.7 crore will act as s a shortcut to reach the main road. Shullai thanked Seng Khasi Raij Laban and Muslim Kabristan Committee for parting away the land free of cost to construct the project. PWD (Road) Chief Engineer L Passah said that the work will start by December to be completed within 2 years.
