St. Edmunds College, Synod College victorious on first day of Inter College Cricket Tournament
SHILLONG: In the first match of the day, St. Edmunds College defeated Umshyrpi College by 3 wickets. Umshyrpi College won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 109 losing 8 wickets in 23 overs. Rakesh Rai scored 23 runs of 46 balls and Syed Salman scored 21 runs of 18 balls. While Rajdeep Dutta took 4/19 runs of 4 overs. And Vikash Thapa took 1/12 runs of 3 overs. In reply, St. Edmunds College reached the target 111 runs losing 7 wickets in 19.2 overs. Raja Valmiki topscored with 38 runs of 49 balls. Krishna Thapa 19 runs of 30 balls while Vikash Kumar and Suraj Chettri took 2 wickets each for 12 and 19 runs respectively. In the second match Synod College defeated Sohra College by 47 runs. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Synod College scored 134 runs losing 7 wickets in 23 overs. Kynpham Shylla scored 31 runs of 32 balls and Donboklang Lyngdoh scored 30 runs of 46 balls. Sagra G Momin took 3/20 runs of 5 overs and Vishal Warjri took 1/28 runs of 4 overs. In reply, Sohra College were dismissed for 87 runs in 20.3 overs. Sagra G Momin topscored with 41 runs of 36 balls. Nantu Biswas helped with 17 runs of 41 balls. While Wallambok Marngar took 4/15 runs of 4 overs including hat trict. Donald R Nongkseh took 2/24 runs of 4.3 overs.

State Badminton Team leaves for Guwahati
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Badminton Team has left for Guwahati to participate in the North East Zone Inter state championship which will be held in Guwahati itself from the 13th men and women categories. The State Association has conducted a coaching camp as part of the preparation. The Team will be participat in the entire event including the Team championship (men and women) and also in the individual event (men and women) to be held on 16th November.
Football Tourney
SHILLONG: Nangkiew Sports Social and Cultural Club, Lawsohtun is organising the 8th cash award which is open to all new year bonanza inter club knock out football tournament which will be held at Lawsohtun football ground Block 6. Entry fee is Rs 2000, last date for entry is 22nd November. The match will start from 30th November.
Kharumnuid scores own goal to hand Langsning 2-1 win
Shillong: Langsning stole the show on Wednesday in their Imperial Blue Shillong Premiere League match against Rangdajied United with a 2-1 win. Rangdajied conceded the first goal in just the 11th minute when Victor Shadap’s shot was allowed past the goal keeper. However, it took five minutes for the Blues to come back courtesy a goal by Eijingmut Lyngdoh. As the game was heading toward a draw, Rangdajied’s B. Kharumnuid scored an own goal following a scramble in stoppage time to gift Langsning a 2-1 win.
