Special interactive prog held at Shangpung

JOWAI: The office of the Assistant Director, Information & Public Relations, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai organized a Special Interactive Programme on Thursday at Iaw Muchai, Shangpung on the Theme “Use Nature to Improve Quality of Life” which was attended by D.P Kharsati, ADM, West Jaintia Hills, as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Kharsati lauded the Department for organizing the programme for the benefit of the people in rural areas. He encouraged the public to actively interact and clarify their doubts with the officials of various departments present on the occasion.

The officials – K.S Pale, Assistant Soil & Conservation Officer (T) West Jaintia Hills District, Dr. F. Phyllei, A.H & Veterinary Officer, Iooksi, B. Shylla, Fishery Demonstrator and I. Talang, District Programme Officer, ICDS, West Jaintia Hills – highlighted on the various schemes available in their respective departments while R. Syiem, Food Safety Officer, Jaintia Hills, gave a presentation on importance of food safety and sanitation.

Queries related to ICDS especial the old-age pension scheme, Animal Husbandry and Soil & Water Conservation were put up by the public.

Earlier the welcomed address was delivered by S. Suchiang, Headman, Shangpung Pohchnong, while the programme was chaired by R. Muksor, Assistant Director, Information & Public Relations, Jowai.
