Kohima:At least three shops were completely gutted in an accidental fire that broke out on Saturday at the Project Colony in Zunheboto town.
According sources on Sunday, no item could be retrieved as the fire turned into inferno immediately after it broke out and quickly spread to the nearby shops. There was no report of any casualty or injuries, how-ever, the cost and damage of the shops was estimated to be huge.
The building reportedly belonged to the Lochomi Village Community Church. The swift response of Fire Brigade Services prevented further damage and escala-tion of fire to adjoining shops.
District administration led by the Deputy Commissioner of Zunhe-boto Temsu Longkumer, Police, Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several other concer-ned leaders visited the spot and took stock of the incident.
The cause of the fire and the total damage are being estimated. (UNI)
