Dacoits held
On November 19 evening, Police arrested four dacoits Walten K. Sangma, Sengku B. Marak, Rakseng B. Marak and Forthious B. Sangma from Borobokul (WGH) and Rari area (NGH) and seized one shotgun and cash Rs.40,000 from their possession.
Fake joining letter
Sub-Major J.L Das, Superintendent, Recruitment Branch, DGAR, Laitkor lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on Nov. 19, one Sanyethabam Prameshwar of Manipur, produced a fake joining letter at DGAR Laitkor. Police arrested the accused.
Headman assaulted
On November 19 at around 9.30 pm, five youths Alaric Kharkongor (25), Wanbok Lyngdoh (22) Kevi Angami (21), Thejamo Lotha (28) and Bebedo Sangtam (21) assaulted James R. Lyngwa, Headman of Nongrim Hills, Shillong at the locality. Police arrested the accused.
Motorcycle stolen
On November 19 around 8.45 pm, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05H-2630) from Laimaw Umpling, Shillong.
One knocked down
On November 19 at around 8.30 pm, one Bolero vehicle (number not known) knocked down one pedestrian Lamphrang Thabah (34) at Mawryngkneng (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to NEIGRIHMS.
NGT ban violations
On November 18 at around 10.30 pm, Police detected one truck driven by Dreaming Sympli transporting coal at Ladrymbai (EJH) in violation of NGT order.
On November 17, Police detected one truck (ML-04B-5677) driven by Riki Biam transporting coal at Ladrymbai (EJH) in violation of NGT order.
Theft case
On November 17 at around 3 am, two unknown miscreants stole one battery belonging to M/s BSC-C & C JV at Samanda camp (EGH).
Cattle stolen
One Dinesh Nongtdu lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on November 15 night, two persons Bright Chyrmang and Spiar Chyrmang stole two heads of cattle from his cowshed at Dkhiah East village (EJH). Later, they were apprehended by the local residents and handed over to Police.
Attempt to murder
Heubirth Momin lodged a complaint at Kharkutta Outpost that on November 11 at around 5 pm, one Santosh Marak attempted to murder his son Rakseng Momin and one Junior Momin, at Rajasimla-Wari village (NGH).
Torture
One Bokar Ali of Sidakandi village under Phulbari PS (WGH) lodged a complaint at Tura PS that his son-in-law Sakoat Ali and five others mentally and physically tortured his daughter Momotaz Khatun since their marriage in 2013 and also attempted to murder her.
Goods worth Rs 3 lakh missing
Rajendra H. Loungani lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that stocks valued around Rs.3,50,000 were found missing from his godown at GS Road, Shillong. The complainant suspected that three of his employees, Monoranjan Mahato, Shamboo Paul and Amit Das have stolen the stocks.
Forest produce stolen
On November 20, Baristar Marwein, Lit Kharnaior, Ibangjamin Ramsiej, Bar Sohtun, Bihari Pdahkasiej, Watklet Sohtun and 50 others went to Mawlyngbna village under Mawsynram PS (EKH), destroyed and stole forest products of the villagers.
Cable thefts
On November 20, unknown miscreants stole underground copper cables from near Harrison Bridge, Laban, Shillong.
On November 19, unknown miscreants stole copper tubes valued around Rs. 39,600 from Old TE (BSNL) Building. In this connection, Police arrested one Alimuddin Ali (35).
Four Bangladeshis held
One Eater Marak, Headman of Chintusora village (SWKH) lodged a complaint at Ranikor PS that on November 19 at about 10.15 pm, residents of the village apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals, Abdul Kadir Mia (22), Md. Jage Mia (33), Abdul Jamal Mia (26) and Md. Ali Rehman (32) while they were attempting to steal livestock at the village. One cell phone with SIM card and Bangladeshi currency Rs.6000 was recovered from their possession.
Rice stolen
One Aviram Singh, driver of truck (AS-01-BD-9881) lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on November 19 at around 7 am, unknown miscreants stole 250 bags of rice from his truck and threatened the helper of the truck with dire consequences at Byndihati NH-44 (EJH).
Assault
On November 18 at around 10 am, one Mampi Mandal assaulted a woman identified as Pinki Rao and threatened her with dire consequences at Municipal Staff Quarters, Bishop Cotton Road.
