Guwahati: NorthEast United FC will hope to jump to the fourth spot in the Indian Super League (ISL) standings with a win against bottom-placed Delhi Dynamos FC in the 40th match of the inaugural tournament at the Indira Gandhi Stadium here Sunday.

NorthEast United are currently just above Delhi with 10 points from nine matches but such is the intense competition in the league that a victory for the hosts will see them move ahead of three teams in the league table.

Delhi have seven points from nine matches.

NorthEast are coming into the match on the back of a 0-1 defeat against Atletico de Kolkata away at Kolkata. Prior to the loss, they could only manage three draws and a defeat, including a 0-0 stalemate against Delhi Dynamos.

They will be determined to end their five-match winless run and bring their ISL campaign back on track and will have the backing of their vociferous fans who continue to throng the stands in support of their team.

Delhi Dynamos have endured a poor first season of the inaugural tournament, with just a win from their nine matches. They are winless in the last six matches, losing four times.

Their marquee player Alessandro del Piero has been far from impressive with questions being asked about his fitness and it remains to be seen if the Italian can successfully turnaround his poor form in the competition.
