While talking to newsmen here on Monday, Wahspeh said that on November 18, a section of the village led by one Rekar Marngar and Stalin Mawtyllup wanted to cut the medicinal flowers during the cleaning drive of the one of the internal road which they had planted to prevent the entry of cows and goats inside their land.
He said that in the past, no one had objected to their request to not cut down the flower even during the cleaning of village under MGNREGS.
“This time round, they were adamant to our request,” Wahspeh said. Following a huge debate, he said that the group led by Marngar and Mawtyllup finally left the place.
“Two days after this incident, the village dorbar convened a meeting on November 20 where to my surprise, I was asked to leave the meeting along with my family members. On the following day, the members of the village came to my house to hand over the summon letter asking me and family to meet the Sordar of the village on November 23,” the father of the family said.
He informed that when they had gone to meet the Sordar, he was informed that the village Dorbar on November 20 had decided to ostracize his family.
Without giving them the opportunity to be heard, Wahspeh said that the village dorbar on November 24 made a formal announcement about the social ostracisation of his whole family.
As per the order of the village dorbar, he said that the village dorbar will not take any responsibility if any tragic incident take place in the family, no certificate will be issued to them and they will no longer be eligible to avail the PDS items as per the BPL card.
