Agartala:Three CPI-M Parliamentarians from Tri-pura on Thursday met Union Minister of Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and sought his intervention in the recent spate of flight operations between Kol-kata-Agartala-Guwahati sectors.
They have submitted a memorandum demanding immediate action on increasing number of flights in the sectors by both Air India and other private airliners, arbitrary hike of fare and withdrawal of air services.
“Suddenly, despite repeated demand from the state Jet Airways has withdrawn their flight in Agartala-Kolkata route that led the people of Tripura to an immense hardship in both from connectivity and financially,” the memorandum stated.
The MPs also demanded to increase at least three more flights between Kolkata-Agartala sector, two in the morning and another one in the evening, that the passengers from Agartala could easily avail the flight  to the other destinations from Kolkata.
They also requested to introduce an Air India flight on Agartala-Kolkata-Delhi route or in Agartala-Kolkata Sector to be designed such way that the passengers could avail the Delhi bound flights, without wasting time in Kolkata Airport beyond legitimate.(PTI)
