SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal has clarified that the Meghalaya Rural Bank is a scheduled bank approved by the Ministry of Petroleum for the Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG.

The statement came from the DC after confusion arose over whether account holders of the MRB can avail the DBTL benefit.

“The account holders of MRB can give the same account details for DBT linkage to the respective gas agencies and they need not open any new account for this purpose,” Goyal said.

The IFS code of Meghalaya Rural Bank Shillong centre is SBIN0RRMEGB, he informed.
