Woman duped with promise of marriage

A woman identified as Puspa Ch Marak lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri police station that one Tikaram Chettri took her to Nepal with a promise to marry her, but on reaching his native place, he assaulted her as a result of which she suffered miscarriage. She also found that he was already married to one Gija Chettri.

Theft cases

On December 6 around 7 pm, four unidentified miscreants snatched a bag containing ATM/ PAN Cards and cash Rs.32,000 from one Wallambok Kharkongor at Sangmein, Lum Shillong.

In another case, a woman identified as Temsulema Longchan lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on December 4 at around 6.40 pm, unknown persons fraudulently withdrew Rs.24,917 from her SBI account through online purchase.

Dinesh Kr. Koch lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that on December 1, unknown persons drugged his brother Suchi Kr. Koch while proceeding from Shillong to Williamnagar by MTC bus and stole his mobile phone and cash Rs.3500. Victim was admitted at CH Williamnagar (EGH).

On December 3, two persons Durna Das (19) and Pankaj Sharma (25) stole Rs.1,02,500 from the house of one Manoj Kumar Agarwal at Dymmiew, Shillong.

Accidents

On December 4 at about 12.30 pm, one truck (ML-07B-1474) driven by one Md. Safiqul Islam (24) plunged into a gorge at Nongchram (EGH). As a result, the driver sustained injuries and was shifted to Solace Hospital, Goalpara, while the handyman Solmen Ali (19) died on the spot.

On December 2 at about 8 pm, one Maruti Alto-800 local taxi (A/F) driven by Jenesis Nongbri (24) met with an accident with one truck (number not known) at Shallang (WKH). As a result, the driver and one occupant of the local taxi, Tousis Swangre (26), sustained injuries and later succumbed to their injuries.

Kidnap bid

One Thinker R. Marak lodged a complaint at Rongara PS that on November 25 at around 2 am, unidentified armed miscreants went to a construction site at Rongara Bridge (SGH), assaulted the labourers, demanded money from the camp manager, threatened him with dire consequences and attempted to abduct him. However, he managed to escape.
