AMEF camp busted in State

Guwahati: A hideout of militant outfit AMEF (Acchik Madrik Elite Force), a split faction of GNLA, at Papira Abri, a desolate mountain in the thick jungles of East Garo Hills of Meghalaya, has been busted by security forces.

Acting on specific input, troops of Red Horns Division of Army, along with SWAT team of Meghalaya Police, launched a joint search operation and busted the hideout on Monday, a Defence release said here.

The recoveries from the hideout included one 9 mm pistol with one magazine, one 7.65 pistol with one magazine, one Radio Set walky talky GXT, eight rubber stamps of AMEF, one letter pad, 13 live rounds of AK-47, five fired cases of AK-47, 11 live rounds of 7.65mm pistol, one fired case of 7.65mm pistol, three live rounds of 9mm pistol, three diaries and 21 Sim Cards.
