NGH observes World Human Rights Day

RESUBELPARA: Together with the rest of the world, North Garo Hills on Wednesday observed the World Human Rights Day here by organising a function attended by hundreds of people from all walks of life including members of self-help groups.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner in charge, D.D. Sangma, spoke at length about human rights, violation of human rights and stressed on the need to be aware of one’s own rights.
Others who spoke on the occasion included DRDA Project Director, L. Ch Marak, former Chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Women, Suzana K. Marak, and member, District Legal Services Authority, Rupart M. Momin.
Also, the World HIV/AIDS Day and awareness on Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation was also simultaneously observed and organized here. The function was presided over by senior EAC, C.N. Sangma, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Election branch official, Tilak Boro.
