New Delhi: Abdus Saleh, a three-time legislator, and presently Co-Chairman of the Meghalaya Industries Development Corporation, was on Friday appointed as Chairman of the Minority Department of AICC for Meghalaya.

Saleh, who was an independent MLA from Mahendraganj, was appointed to the post after joining the Congress. Bilall Mia was appointed Chairman for Tripura while Wazed Ali Choudhary was appointed for Assam.

In total 12 chairmen were appointed by party president Sonia Gandhi on Friday, party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi informed.
