Mumbai: After being lauded and honoured across the cricket world, Sachin Tendulkar is all set to be feted in a slightly different way with 10 contemporary artists paying tribute to him through exhibition of paintings and sculptures.

Art organisation TenArt in association with the National Gallery of Modern Art will host the show ‘Deconstructed Innings – A Tribute to India’s Greatest Sporting Icon Sachin Tendulkar’ this December.

The project has received the support of Tendulkar while the artists have spent considerable time with the cricketing icon during the development stages of the exhibits prior to the actual design and construction.

Kiran Desai has conceptualised the exhibition, which has been co-curated along with noted art curator and writer Veeranganakumari Solanki; while Pheroza Godrej, chairperson of the NGMA, has mentored the exhibition. (pti)
