New Delhi: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Satur-day demanded a reply by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of forcible religious conversions, saying it is important for the public to know his stand on the issue.

“The Prime Minister should clarify his stand and approach on the conversion issue. One cannot act opposition as well as the ruling party. Public wants to know his stand,” he told reporters here. The former Delhi Chief Minister said BJP had won the Lok Sabha elections and formed government playing the development card but failed to deliver on its promises.

“They won on the grounds of development. They had promised that ‘ache din’ will come. In the past six months they have been seen talking about issues like Love Jihad and religion conversion. “There had been no riots in Delhi since 35 years but they took place after BJP came to power. If public had known all this will be happening, they would have never voted in favour of them,” he added.

The AAP leader howe-ver refused to comment when asked whether his party will advocate an ‘anti-conver-sion’ law if voted to power. (PTI)
